MDEAT Launches Third Round of $10,000 Grants for Black-Owned Businesses in Miami-Dade.
The Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust (MDEAT) has announced the third iteration of its Small Minority Black Business Capitalization Grant Program, reaffirming its commitment to supporting economic growth in Miami-Dade County. The program offers $10,000 grants to 10 successful Black-owned businesses, both for-profit and not-for-profit, operating within the county.
Applications for the grant program are now open and will be accepted until noon on Wednesday, February 16, 2024. This initiative aims to address barriers to prosperity and foster inclusive economic growth by empowering Black entrepreneurs.
Bill Diggs, Executive Director of MDEAT, emphasized the organization's dedication to supporting Black-owned businesses amidst economic uncertainties. He stated, "This year, we amplify our support, offering $10,000 grants to 10 businesses, marking a significant stride towards inclusive economic growth in Miami-Dade County."
Over the past two years, MDEAT has distributed more than $400,000 in grants to the Black business community through the Small Business Capitalization Grant program. The program has shown substantial growth and impact, allowing business owners to invest in essential aspects such as equipment, marketing, technology, and other tools to expand their ventures.
