Greenacres Property Enhancement Grant Program Helps Residents and Businesses Improve Their Properties!
Greenacres, Florida, is offering a Property Enhancement Grant Program that allows home and business owners to get 50% of their renovation projects reimbursed, up to $5,000. This program, now in its fourth year, is designed to help residents and businesses in the nearly 100-year-old community invest in their properties and take pride in where they live and work.
The program covers a wide range of renovation projects, including:
- Roof repairs or replacement- Exterior painting- New doors and windows- Landscaping- Driveway repairs
The City of Greenacres allocates $100,000 for the grants from its annual budget, with $50,000 initially set aside for residents and $50,000 for businesses. Any leftover funds from the business allocation are then added to the residential allocation.
Greenacres Mayor Joel Flores emphasized the importance of the program, stating, "Our residents want to feel proud of where they live, and Greenacres is an older community; we're about to be 100 years old, so there are some areas that really need investment and this program allows residents to take pride in their property."
Janet Tighe, a Greenacres resident of 39 years, has successfully applied for the grant three times. With the help of the program, she has been able to install hurricane windows, replace her fence, and fix her roof – improvements she would not have been able to afford on her own.
